Dr. Sonny J. H. Wong is the founder Windward Vein, Heart and Medispa. He has extensive clinical experience and has practiced heart care exclusively since 1986. Dr. Wong is originally from New Zealand and graduated from the University of Otago Dunedin Medical School; this is one of the leading medical schools in the world.
Dr. Wong completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at the University of Hawaii and the University of Nevada. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Internal Medicine. Additionally, he successfully completed the Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography in 2003.
Dr. Wong is on the volunteer clinical faculty at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine as a clinical professor. He is involved in medical student teaching both first-year clinical skills, and the fourth year Cardiology elective rotation.
Dr. Wong is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, practicing since 1986, and in based in Hawaii since 1994. Throughout this time, he has built extensive relationships with the cardiac medical community in Honolulu and the U.S. mainland. He can draw on a wide range of other experts, should their assistance be needed.
He advises his medical students to take a competent medical history and examine the patient looking for pertinent clues to support their hypothesis of want they think going on with patients. To think logically and to use their common sense.
In his free time, as an avid golf player, Dr. Wong gets out at least twice a week for a round of golf with his golfing friends.
Certified as a Registered Nurse Injector by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Lisa has been performing cosmetic injectables since 1999. She is also a National Trainer for Galderma® and travels across the country teaching doctors and nurses her injectable art form.
Lisa first became interested in nursing while working as the office manager for a group of reconstructive plastic surgeons in Dallas. She followed her heart and enrolled in El Centro College School of Nursing in Dallas in 1994, and graduated with her degree in 1998. She began her nursing career working for a cosmetic plastic surgeon, where she was trained to take over the cosmetic injectable treatments. The popularity of her treatments quickly grew to 20 patients a day, and a separate medical spa was formed to accommodate patients looking for a non-surgical approach for full face enhancement.
Lisa offers Dysport® to minimize the muscle functions of the upper face which produce wrinkles of the forehead and the sides of the eyes. She also offers Restylane® to restore volume and smooth wrinkles of the cheeks and lower face and to restore and enhance the lips. Her goal with all treatments is to provide a refreshed and more youthful look while maintaining a natural appearance.
Rose serves as the backbone for many types of treatments. Whether it’s organizing the supplies and ensuring that the patients have required documentation or checking patients in and preparing them for their visit or consultation with Dr. Wong, her smiling face and sweet nature is appreciated daily. She also actively assists with vein treatments, Coolsculpting treatments, and placing patients on our EECP machine.
Tina is one of the kind faces that greets you when you first enter our doors. She has been with us for several years and has been a great fit for the practice.
Hollie originally started with us as our Medical biller but her organization and drive to create a smooth running practice morphed her position into what it is today.
